African women governance and peace forum "sharing experiences in democracy and peace building"

At the invitation of the Regional Gender Program of UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa (RBA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender and Women in Development of Rwanda and UNDP Rwanda Office, the African Women Governance and Peace Forum was convened, from the 7th - 10th /February/ 2005 in Kigali, for participants to share the experiences of women in peace building and governance. <more> snapshot

The roundtable began with an opening speech by Dr. Amany Asfour, Chairperson of AFRAWE. She expressed her appreciation to the Egyptian dignitaries for coming to attend the round table. She welcomed all to the meeting and stated that AFRAWE takes seriously the empowerment of African Women Entrepreneurs, and said her organization is committed to contribute what it takes to see that the business development centers are established to provide valuable services. <more> snapshot

Training on building the capacities of African Women Exporters. June 2006

The training workshop on building the capacities of African Women exporters took place in Johannesburg, South Africa on June 05-09, 2006. The training workshop was aimed at building the capacities of women exporters of Africa, from selected African countries. The training conducted mainly focused on international trade. This part of the training workshop covered nine (9) training modules which were designed to be more participatory for trainees to get more involved and learn through interactions. <more> snapshot
